Brocklewood Primary and Nursery School

Imagine. Believe. Achieve.

Admissions

Nursery Admissions

Brocklewood provides an exciting nursery for children in the community from the age of 3. We run morning and afternoon sessions (3 hours each), as well as full-day places for families entitled to 30 hours of funding. To help children settle, we also arrange introductory sessions so they can get to know the staff and nursery environment. Our setting offers plenty of opportunities for learning through play, alongside some adult-led activities focused on early literacy and numeracy.

Please complete a nursery admissions form, available from the school office. We will then contact you as your child approaches their 3rd birthday to invite you into school, discuss admission arrangements, and finalise the necessary paperwork.

School Admissions

Our admissions pan number is currently 60.

All admissions to school are dealt with by Nottingham City Council. To apply for a place you should contact them directly on 0115 841 5568 or visit www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/schooladmissions for more information.

If you need any help with this please contact the school office on 0115 915 3272 and we are more than happy to help you.

If you would like to see our setting in action before applying for a school place please ring the school office who can arrange for you to come in and visit our nursery or reception unit.

The admissions criteria for the school is detailed in the documents below.

For applications in the normal admissions round, you are strongly encouraged to apply online.  Alternatively, if parents/carers resident in Nottingham City wish to apply using a paper application form (School Common Application Form) this is available from and should be returned to the School Admissions Team, Access and Inclusion, LH Box 14, Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG.

You will receive an offer for a school place directly from the local authority.

Please note, pupils already attending Brocklewood Primary School's nursery will not transfer automatically into the main school. A separate application must be made for a place in reception.

For entrance to Brocklewood Primary School in September 2027, application packs will be distributed by the local authority to parents/carers resident in Nottingham City by post, or via city nursery schools. The closing date for applications under the co-ordinated admission scheme is 15 January 2027. Offers of places will be made on the national offer date of 16 April 2027 (or next working day after this date). In respect of applications for the 2027 autumn term, for parents/carers who apply for a place online an email will be sent on this day. If a paper application was submitted via the Common Application Form, decisions will be posted on the 16 April 2027 or next working day and should be received by parent/carers by the 18th April 2027.

Parents/carers should confirm to the local authority whether they wish to accept the place offered within 14 days of receipt of the offer. Failure to do so will result in the place being withdrawn.

Nottingham City Council  may be willing to accept applications which are received late, i.e., after the closing date of 15 January 2027, but before 5.00 p.m. on 10 February 2027 under exceptional circumstances, for example: a) a family returning from abroad. b) a lone parent who has been ill for some time. c) a family moving into Nottingham from another area. d) other exceptional circumstances.

Each case will be treated on its merits.

Any preferences received by Nottingham City Council up to 10 February 2027, with good reason for being late, and where applicable, with the agreement of the Governing Body of the academy will be included in the first cycle of allocations and will be notified on the national offer day.

All other late applications for places at the academy received by Nottingham City Council after 10 February 2027 will be dealt with after the offer day.

Other local authorities might have different policies when dealing with late applications. Applicants are advised to contact their home local authority to find out what their policy is.

Applications for in-year admissions should be completed through the City Council’s website, or using a paper application form that is available from the School Admissions Team at the City Council. Parents will be notified of the outcome of their in-year application in writing within 15 school days.
